The director of the Bogotá Fire Department, Diego Moreno, reported this Wednesday that, after two days of searching, Gasper, one of the dogs that works in the institution in rescue work, and who had been lost during his work, finally appeared.
On September 27, the entity's official Twitter account published the alert message.
"At dawn, while carrying out search and location tasks for some missing citizens on the Guadalupe hill, our dog Gasper got lost. If you have seen him, contact us on our social networks," said the trill, which it quickly began to be replicated by the users of the social network and the different entities of the district.
"We need your help. We need your rescue. We are looking for Gasper, one of our search and locate pets, who in a high mountain search and rescue operation had the unfortunate situation of getting lost. He did not return to our team work. Please help us find Gasper," Moreno said at the time.
The news aroused the solidarity of several citizens, who even responded by stating that they had seen the rescue dog in different parts of the city. However, this afternoon a new message from the firefighters ended the search and reassured the public: "Gasper appeared."
"The fire department is happy because our friend showed up," said the director of Bogotá Fire Department.
As explained by Moreno, Gasper followed his instincts and, thanks to his skills, managed to reach an Army battalion.
"Expert instructors manage to get close to him, notify us and our colleagues travel immediately," the director explained.
Bomberos Bogotá explained that -although Gasper is fine- he will be evaluated by specialists to ensure that his health has not been affected by the days he was lost on Cerro de Guadalupe.
