Shoes with socks in sight? While there are those who put on a frightened face, there are also others who embrace this trend to take it à la Blair Waldorf, as has been dictated for several seasons on different catwalks. Is there a formula to wear this combination? Of course, because if we assemble it arbitrarily you run the risk of committing a faux-pas.
In addition to the clothes you wear, there are also important keys to follow when it comes to combining shoes with socks, especially in the style of shoes and socks you wear (as we saw from last year with sandals with socks). Fishnet socks? Yes please!
Calm down, at first glance it may seem intimidating, but only to the extent that you allow it. For example, in Dior's autumn/winter prêt-à-porter 2020-2021 presentation, the house proposed the use of this type of socks in a preppy style, merging textures and prints in each of the outfits.
When it comes exclusively to fishnet socks, the combination with Mary Jane-style shoes is an absolute must if you wear them with miniskirts. Another alternative suggested by the French firm is found in the use of combat boots with fishnet socks peeking out beyond the bottom of the boot (yes, the grunge that discreetly filters through this type of detail in our wardrobes is welcome).
With transparent socks
Wearing heels with transparent socks gives a completely different upgrade to any style. For a couple of seasons Prada has proposed it with midi dresses and socks that end at mid-calf, a perfect detail for the coldest season of the year, because you can wear a dress without doing without elegant stilettos.
On the other hand, this type of socks also look very chic with a pair of straight jeans in combination with pumps. You can be as creative as you like, as there are transparent socks with all kinds of finishes, some are even sparkly.

It may take you a while to decide if you like it or not, but we can't deny the reign of this type of socks on Gucci's fall/winter 2020-2021 ready-to-wear catwalk. The firm commanded by Alessandro Michelle took over the ugly aesthetic and the crochet socks are just one of the details that reveal it most strongly.
With moccasins, peep toe shoes, Mary Janes or T-Bar style sandals, Gucci proposes (as always) that going against the grain of what is considered 'good taste' is the best way to innovate, do you dare?

The simplest way to combine socks with shoes is to wear them in white, school style.
