The candidate for the Presidency of the Citizens' Board, Francisco Igea, announced today that his party intends to separate the Departments of Development and Environment. "It is time that those who issue building permits cannot be the same as those who issue environmental licenses. It is time, in this Community, to separate these things if we really want -and need- a responsible environmental policy that complies with climate change targets.
In his opinion, alluding to the statements by the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Alberto Garzón, and the subsequent reactions and controversy generated in this regard, "what you have to do is not make irresponsible statements in foreign media or walk around in moccasins surrounded by cows but to make realistic proposals" and one of the first, which he considers "urgent" is that separation.
"We will do it as soon as we enter into the future government of this Community, in which I assure you that Ciudadanos will be present, because it intends to continue with an efficient, clean and transparent government action like the one we have carried out these years and that perfectly exemplifies Ana Carlota Amigo".
Together with her and the Citizens deputy, María del Carmen Martínez, Igea today visited the facilities of the Latem Aluminum company, in the Villadangos del Páramo industrial estate (León) and defended her management at the head of the Employment Ministry . "We have worked very hard to try to get the Community's industrial policy to take a step forward. Amigo has defended each project tooth and nail," she remarked.
For Igea, "there are people who take care of the Leonistas and there are people who take care of the Leonese. Carlota takes care of the Leonese and each one and they have seen her in different places and I have seen her in each Council of Government to defend, with energy and cleanliness, each and every one of the projects that could benefit the citizens who live in this province".
Social dialogue
Igea recalled that the Board has granted subsidies to employers and the majority unions in charge of Social Dialogue for 54 million over the last three years and defended the need to justify these items.
"We have asked for transparency and efficiency. Our obligation is for public money to yield results. Ana Carlota has had to put up with some things that are difficult to put up with. No one has reached more agreements with social dialogue or more amounts than Ana Carlota Amigo , but also to tell them that public money is sacred, that it has to be accountable and you cannot participate in the bases of the elaboration of some subsidies to which you compete and this has to change", he stressed.
Citizens, he pointed out, he promised changes and "there has been so much change that you just have to listen to them. Unfortunately, two days after we left, things returned to their normal course and the president told the union leaders that he had not failed them and that Things were already back to their being. Things are back to where they used to be, the water is back in the pond where it has been for 30 years," he said.
That is why, he said, on February 13, the public is at stake to opt for "transparency, change, regeneration, effectiveness, effective industrial policies or the same as always. People can count on advisers like Ana Carlota or go back to business always".
Amigo, for his part, recalled that his management was based on maintaining and attracting companies. "We are very aware that the industry generates quality employment and maintains the population and can attract more and we want to continue implementing these measures. Unfortunately the president has paralyzed all the processes with the call for elections," he lamented.
