Every time it rains or the street has been watered, we must be careful not to slip and fall. There are tiles that are more slippery than others, and shoe soles that are not made waterproof. But, beyond these certainties, the same question continually arises: why do shoes slip? And, above all, what can I do to prevent them from slipping? It is curious that, in the 21st century, shoe manufacturers have not devised a material for soles that is resistant to falls and slips. Until that moment arrives, we provide you with some infallible tips and tricks so that your shoes never slip again.

1. Stick adhesive tape on the sole

Cut a few small pieces of adhesive tape and carefully glue them to the sole. So that it is not noticed that you have followed this trick, you can paint the adhesive tape with a marker the color of the sole. The small cuts of adhesive tape will serve as non-slip.

2. Spray with hairspray

Lacquer is a very economical nonstick. All you have to do is spray the lacquer on the sole and let it dry long enough so that it doesn't get stuck to the floor of your house. This trick is very good, especially for walking on floors moistened by condensation.

3. Cover the sole with rubber

It is always the best option: go to a professional; in this case, to your trusted shoemaker. If you explain the problem to him, he will, for a small fee, put a layer of rubber over the sole and you will never slip again.

4. Rub with a potato

The old potato trick never fails. Cut a potato in half and rub it across the bottom of your shoes or boots. Potato starch creates a non-slip layer that will allow you to walk more easily through wet environments or slippery floors. In fact, potato starch is also ideal for preventing glasses from fogging up with the mask.

5. Sand the sole

Take fine-grit sandpaper and rub the sole gently until you feel a slight roughness. During the process, you should pass the sandpaper over the sole with smooth, circular movements, especially in the front area of the sole. Do it carefully so as not to wear the sole more than you should.
