Analysis of the Sims 4: Trip to Batuu

The Sims 4 has brought us a large number of expansions and content updates, where thanks to them we have been able to travel to any unimaginable place, see fantastic creatures or celebrate great festivities with our Sims.On this occasion the title developed by Maxis and Distributed Electronic Arts, gives us the pleasure of analyzing the Sims 4: trip to Batuu, the last expansion of the well -known simulation saga, which moves us to a theme park set in the Star franchiseWars and that opts for a different approach to the rest of the expansions.

A collaboration that not all the Sims 4 players liked it, for this we only have to see the dyslike of the presentation trailer, since the community feels ignored by the developers.

Technical section

We enter one of the sections with less "improvements" regarding the base title. The new expansion dedicated to the Star Wars universe, or at least to the last three films, adds a new "world" called Batuu; This world is an inspiration of the attraction parks that we can find in Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland and Disney World, it is, we will not see original content of the movies, but something created for the occasion.

Graphically we are not novelty, although in the city of Batuu we can find some references to the Star Wars saga, some of them with enough details such as the Millennial Falcon.Although we usually find a rather correct section, which we have already seen before.

A point in favor of the new expansion is the sound and atmosphere that this produces in the different fights with laser swords or in the new world environment. As always the game is completely translated into Spanish, as many as the different dialogues as the objects or places of Batuu.

Gameplay

Análisis de Los Sims 4: Viaje a Batuu

This new expansion for the world of the Sims 4 brings us something interesting, but quite poor in gameplay options.Batuu is not a world where we can install to live, it is simply available to visit, for this we will have to plan the trip from our phone and move to a sims already created. We will travel to a theme park inspired by the last three films of the Star Wars saga, a park where each of the people who decide to travel there is to live a unique experience, having similarities with the Westworld series. We will travel as a normal and current sims and once inside the park we will dress and behave as if everything was real.

As soon as we will arrive, we will have some available missions, which consist of adapting to the environment, dressing for the occasion and choosing some of the new cosmetics that the expansion brings to us, however, some of the garments will be blocked and we will unlock them when we are ascending inThe ranks of the chosen side, either with the resistance or the first order. If on this occasion as if to disguise ourselves in different ways or races, they would have implemented them having the possibility of being able to create our own space sims, it would have given a lot of play within the saga itself;since this was the perfect occasion for it, but unfortunately it was not like that.

The world of Batuu is divided into three zones, which are the resistance camp, the district of the first order and a neutral zone where we will perform a large part of the missions called the advanced position of the black needle. The neutral zone could be one of the most interesting, in it we will find various burrow buildings where we can stay and perform basic tasks such as: change clothes, clean up or get some food, we also have a large canteen full of life, where we cansit hours and hours listening to the different songs while we interact with the rest of the characters.

Full map of the world of Batuu

In past expansions we could see the implementation of some RPG missions within the Sims saga, this time they are implemented with the added value of the pure atmosphere Star Wars. However, unfortunately most missions do not give us anything to the plot, being quite repetitive to each other over time.Within Batuu we will have a special currency, which can only be used in that city; These coins are the credits. The credits can be obtained by making some missions, and all of them while we are ascending in our faction and we are unlocking outfit and objects.

While we walk through Batuu we will find enemies of the opposite side, at that time we can have real fights with our laser swords, in addition some details of the saga have also been implemented, such as playing the Sabacc card game or making use of our droid, thewhich we can buy and customize to our liking to infiltrate ourselves in the enemy camp.

However, this expansion is more focused on hook.It is true that one could be working on a new installment that corrects all known mistakes, but there is no knowledge of it.

Duration

The Sims 4 is a title to which you can throw an infinity of hours, where we can create our family, interact with the rest of the inhabitants, work, etc..As we all know the games of the Sims saga is a “life simulator”, where we will be those who make certain decisions in the daily life of our characters or some that we find ourselves in the world.

Both the base game of the Sims 4 and most of its expansions of new areas or festivities, does not have a specific number of hours; So we can walk and interact with the different batuu areas all the time we want.

Conclusion

Of course, gathering the Sims 4 and the Star Wars universe is not a bad idea, but this time I travel to Batuu is more focused for fans of the successful franchise and not so much for the usual players of the Sims.As a new DLC for the title, it does not contribute great novelties, unlike other expansions brought previously by the Maxis study.Trip to Batuu could have been focused completely differently, having an argument of greater weight and a little more interesting, they also still do not add new races;this being the perfect opportunity. However, it has quite repetitive missions and have not taken advantage of the full possible potential, in addition to leaving even the faithful players of the Sims saga and not listening to the community.
