The markets are the ideal place to buy products obtained from the land and waters of the island of La Palma, as well as samples of its rich craftsmanship.

Villa de Mazo Market. Pantry and embroidery

The streets of Villa de Mazo become a bustling shopping area every weekend, when the municipal market is held.

It is a good place to buy fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as meat and fish, but also to take home sweets, liqueurs, wines and honey from the area. In fact, it is famous for being one of the best markets on the island due to the quality of its products.

But if what you are looking for is not food products but a souvenir, it is a good idea to take a look at the carefully hand-embroidered tablecloths, scarves and sheets, because, among other stalls, there are also those of textile products. Just to see the hustle and bustle of the place, it is worth approaching.

The Plains of Argual Market

Surrounded by stately mansions from the 17th and 18th centuries and banana plantations, it is well worth a visit, especially for those looking for handicrafts. Every Sunday it opens its stalls while a glass workshop explains the manufacturing technique of its products.

Sanlupe crafts

A classic: they sell everything from t-shirts and souvenirs from the island to typical products (sweets, honey, mojo...) as well as handicrafts, so it's easy to find something to take back home.

Carmel Boutique

The store of the creator Carmen Moreno Herrera is a good sample of clothes and accessories perfect for those looking for something fun and with personality.

Awara Moon Cheese Factory

There are many good cheese factories throughout the island, but one that is especially recommended is that of Dionisio Lorenzo, who has been dedicated for more than three decades to making an artisan cheese with raw palm goat milk that is a true delicacy.

Bodega Teneguia

The volcanic soil produces the peculiar grape that is one of the secrets of this winery, open to guided tours and with a restaurant. Its sweet malvasia wines are surely the most famous.
