Former Macy’s employee won 40 thousand dollars when using his employee discount to buy items and resell them, but he was fired

A man, who claimed to be a former Macy’s employee, said he did a good business while working in that department store, but not thanks to his fortnight.

He said he used his discount as an employee to buy items at a low price and then resell them to get a profit, but finally the store dismissed him when he noticed his maneuvers.

Evan Kail remembered his parallel business in a video posted on his popular Tiktok page.

"If you use your employee discount to buy shoes in liquidation that already have a 90 percent discount ... then you can sell them on eBay," he said.

Ex empleado de Macy’s ganó 40 mil dólares al usar su descuento de empleado para comprar artículos y revenderlos, pero fue despedido

"I won $ 40,000 doing this before they caught me and fired me".

Kail pointed out in a comment under the video that earned money in less than six months, but did not reveal when he worked exactly at the department store.

His followers were impressed with his revelation. Many sympathized with him and wondered how he could be fired for such an act.

"How can you say goodbye, you bought your shoes?" A user argued.

"That is why you must sell on the name of another person," said another.

However, someone who said he worked in Macy’s said that buying items to sell them for profit represents a “direct violation” of the brand's policy, but admitted that he is not sure how they would find out about their maneuvers.

Additionally, another user who claimed to work in Old Navy said that "buying discount clothes and reselling it was against politics and was a reason for dismissal".

In response to a comment request, Macy’s said: "We do not discuss issues related to a specific colleague or a former colleague".

Kail is not the first person who claimed to have been fired from an important retailer for doing something questionable.

Previously, someone who said he worked at Whole Foods claimed to have been fired for eating foods that were going to end in the dump.

When The Sun contacted Whole Foods, the grocery store responded with a detailed explanation of her food donation program and hits.
