Students will have their own brand

Students of La Plata, one of the most important institutions in Argentina, continues to grow by leaps and bounds. First, the remodeling of the Jorge Luis Hirschi Stadium, at a European level and which has something new to show every day. In addition, in June, the club announced the launch of the RUGE brand. What is it about? The civil association commanded by Juan Sebastián Verón will have its own sponsorship of sports clothing "based on the values and DNA of Students", according to several members of Marketing del Pincha. It will reach the general public and, in turn, will have the license to develop the official clothing of the club. And there is very little left for his public appearance. Every time less...

In the Ordinary General Assembly of Members, held last Saturday in person and virtually, several extremely important issues were discussed, including the preparations that are being carried out for the landing of RUGE. This project is designed to be carried out over the next two years, with different stages, starting with professional football.

WHEN WILL YOU START WEARING THE PINCHA SHIRT?

Martín Carbonari, EDLP account reviewer and manager of the brand project, stated that "in 2022, during the first year of RUGE, we will be dressing all the club's professional football (men and women). By 2023, We are going to work with clothing and collections for all disciplines and also for the school and the employees who work in the institution".

The curious thing is that no Argentine soccer club has a project of this caliber. The objective of Estudiantes de La Plata is to generate profits for the institution, generating quality clothing at low cost for La Plata fans.

Under Armour, Pincha's current sponsor, ends its contract with Pincha on December 31 and would have already decided to withdraw from soccer and the local Argentine market. Rosario Central, a club that also sponsors the American company, will have to seek new sponsorship. Similar cases have happened in Brazilian clubs, which as a result of the exodus of multinationals and unable to find sponsors, were forced to create their own brand.

THE NAPOLI, PIONEER IN ITALY

The group from the south broke the agreement it had with Kappa a year before its completion and was negotiating with several brands. However, an agreement was not reached with any of the sportswear companies "because they do not want to lose control over the creation of the designs," according to what was launched by the Neapolitan club. Thus, today, the club wears its own brand called EA7 and the members are in charge of choosing the main and alternative shirt models, and at a much cheaper cost.

Will the exodus of the big brands continue and a new era of club designs begin? It seems difficult because of the economic situation of the institutions in Argentina and the need to collect money from these resources.
