The NBA looks new. After 11 years with Adidas as an official dress supplier, the League is now associated with Nike. The company that turns Nike into an exclusive dress of clothing as of October 1 was originally announced in June 2015. Nike recently revealed a first look at the new uniforms of the league earlier for the week.
For the first time in its history, the logo of a clothing manufacturer will appear in the NBA uniforms, made by Nike from Alpha Yarns and recycled plastic bottles. What does this mean?Compared to the current adidas product, the Nike uniform is more flexible, dries 30 percent faster and has larger holes for the arms in addition to a neck with new shape.Nike has even presented a new vision of the uniform selection by eliminating the traditional concept of "local" and "visitor" t -shirts.With four options to choose at the beginning of the season, each NBA team will select the shirt you will wear in all home games for the full season, while visitors will decide to use a contrast uniform. This means that house teams will not be restricted to use only the white color.
And the most important thing in cultural terms, Nike will give the opportunity to eight uniform dressing teams of "classical edition", also known as retro uniforms, to be presented in October, in order to celebrate the most memorable styles seen in the tablons From the past.
But why only eight? The other 22 NBA teams deserve their retro t -shirts.So what ancient but even attractive uniforms would like to see each team during the 2017-18 season?Well, there are many to choose from.We are going to take them to the past, to the era, really short, franchises O.G.And now legendary players, with the best retro t -shirts for all 30 NBA teams.
East Conference
Atlanta Hawks
Dikembe Mutombo, 1997
(Move the finger) "No, no, no", as the giant and member of the Mutombo Dikembo Fame Dikembo would say, there is no better shirt in the history of the Atlanta Hawks than this red, black and yellow edition of the 90s of the 90swhich stands out to a hawk with a ball in its claws. In 2016, the Hawks withdrew Mutombo's number 55.I hope this is under consideration.
Boston Celtics
Bill Russell, 1967
The Boston Celtics t -shirts have barely changed in the 71 years of franchise history.Same colors.Same source and font.Same classic air. However, in the days of Boston Bill Russell's legend, the Celtics players did not have their names on the back of their shirts. Thus, if they see Isaiah Thomas with only his number 4 on his reverse, they will know that Boston decided to take the retro wave.
Brooklyn Nets
Julius Erving, 1975
The Brooklyn Nets were once the New York Nets of the ABA, or American Basketball Association. It was the time when Julius Erving, three times MVP in the ABA, was at the cusp of his ability (and in that of his Afro court), wearing the uniforms with the classic theme of the American flag.A cartoon version of Erving, wearing that shirt and its glorious Afro, appeared in the NBA Street Volume 2 video game.
Charlotte Hornets
Larry Johnson and Muggsy Bogues, 1991
From 1998 to 2002, before the franchise moved to New Orleans, the Charlotte Hornets were a style force. It is difficult to forget the strong man Larry Johnson, the base of 5 feet 3 inches Muggsy Bogues, a young Alonzo Mourning and Dell Curry in his white stripes, Aguamarina and purple uniforms. After two years without a professional basketball team in 2004, the NBA established the Charlotte Bobcats as an expansion equipment in 2004. The bobcats used uniforms little memorable in blue, orange and white for 10 years until the team regained its name andColors like Hornets when New Orleans gave them in 2014. Among the list of things to make majority shareholders Michael Jordan should be persuading Nike that provides them with these classic uniforms.Of course, with the classic Michael Jordan logo of man jumping.
Chicago Bulls
Michael Jordan, 1984
Nothing says "Michael Jordan Novato" better than the images of the 1985 nailed contest, in which a 21 -year -old who would become the oldest of all time took flight, with his gold chains letting himself be carried away by theBrisa, wearing a Red Bulls T -shirt with "Chicago" in italic lyrics.Without a doubt, it is the best t -shirt of the bulls of all time.Do you know who would be super good?To Jimmy Butler.Oh, forgot.
Cleveland Cavaliers
Terrell Brandon, 1997
Even cheese than these alternative uniforms of the cavaliers in black, blue, orange and white (colors that look much better than the vinotinto and gold today of the cavs) we have the warming uniform, with a ball flowing insideA basket on the back.LeBron James would look very bad using this model in his last season in Cleveland. We are joking.Half joking.
Detroit Pistons
Grant Hill, 2000
In the summer of 1996, the Detroit Pistons redesigned their uniforms, changing their colors of red, white and blue to Aguamarina, black, yellow and red. They also presented one of the most fierce logos in the history of the NBA.This new design is inspired by the part of the engine that gives name to the equipment, the piston, and plays with the concept of a horse's strength horses by incorporating into a steed with a flameting hair.Adding to the concept, the "s" of "pistons" in the chest of the shirt is derived from exhaust pipes.Nike needs to hire who has created this design as soon as possible.
Indiana Pacers
Reggie Miller, 1995
This is the uniform in which Reggie Miller, the largest Indiana Pacer of all time, had the two most important moments of his career: his eight points in 8.9 seconds and his sadly famous sign of hanging towards the film director and GreatKnicks Spike Lee fan.Honor mention: the 1989-90 visitor shirt in a lighter blue, with the sign "Pacers" on a yellow panel on the front. Both uniforms look much better than the horrible "Hickory" t -shirts inspired by the movie Hoosiers: more than idols, used by Indiana in 2015.
Miami Heat
Alonzo Mourning, 1996
To summarize, these red alternative shirts of the 90s deserve Emoticons of flames.
Milwaukee Bucks
Glenn Robinson, 1996
This is the best shirt that Milwaukee Bucks has used, a hunter green model with a giant deer in the abdominal zone and the name of the equipment that fades from white to purple.Born in 1994, the super star of the Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo was just a baby when these shirts left in the mid -90s. If Nike brings them back, they would surely look very good about "the Greek beast."
Orlando Magic
Shaquille O'Neal, 1993
The most traditional striped uniforms belong to the New York Yankees. But, in a very closed second place, there are surely the stripes in uniforms dressed in the Orlando Magic in 1990. Is there a couple with the greatest attitude in the history of the NBA than Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway? No, and nobody approaches them. They changed to basketball in their white, blue and black uniforms, with chest stars replacing the letter "A" in "Orlando" or "Magic".Please, let's not start with training jackets. There is a lot there.
New York Knicks
Patrick Ewing and Larry Johnson, 1997
Like the case of the Boston Celtics, the New York Knicks uniforms have not changed much over the years. However, in the mid -90s, the team added a pleasant touch of black to its visitor shirts, dressed by countless Knicks, such as Patrick Ewing, John Starks, Charles Oakley, to Allan Houston and Latrell Sprewell.A player who could never wear this shirt, and who will never do it, now that he has his days with the Knicks counted?Carmelo Anthony.
Philadelphia 76ers
Allen Iiverson, 1996
An Allen Iiverson without crinejas, a barely tattoo and "Sixers" on the chest of a bright shirt (next to its red and black reebok questions, obviously) is an icon.Take note, Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz. Here "the process" began.
Toronto Raptors
Vince Carter, 1999
The Toronto Raptors had to maintain those 1995 uniforms with which they debuted in the league forever and ever.In more than two decades, the franchise has not exceeded its purple t -shirts of the 90s with red, black and gray, with a raptor roaring and driving a ball.Used by Tracy Mcgrary and Vince Carter at the beginning of their races, this is one of the best NBA shirts of all time.In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the franchise during the 2014-15 campaign, the Raptors dusted the "Dino" uniforms as a retro wave.It will not be an anniversary season, but why not bring them back for 2017-18?
Washington Wizards
Earl Monroe, 1969
Forget about the classic t -shirts of the Washington Bullets in red, white and blue that inspired the current Washington Wizards look.Bring back the uniforms in blue, orange and white of the Baltimore Bullets of the late 60s. Today, they would be called the shirts "hands up, do not shoot" on the raised hands of the l of "bullets"."Black lives matter."
West Conference
Dallas Mavericks
Adrian Darnley, 1989
The Dallas Mavericks should undoubtedly return to the logo with a large m letter with a cowboy hat, all involved in a green ball. For decades, this classic design was highlighted in the pants of the Mavericks uniforms, the best green t -shirts with a west wild style source being the front.Make it reality, Mark Cuban!
Denver Nuggets
Alex English, 1990
Dulce Niño Jesús, with your 8 pounds and 6 ounces, these multicolored uniforms of the 80 and 90 denverts are beautiful.Name a retro t -shirt of the NBA as bright as Denver's, with his drawing of the city and an rainbow. However, it looks good, being clear that there is nothing as powerful and beautiful as the painting used by the member of the Hall of Fame Alex English in his chest before several members of the current Denver template arrived in this world.
Golden State Warriors
To Attles, 1968
In eight games during his NBA record season with a 73-9 brand in 2015-16, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green went on the court in the Yellow Alternative Edition of the classic uniforms of the "The City style team" originallyPresented in the 1966-67 season, almost 10 years before the franchise won its first NBA title.Like Golden State's current uniforms, the classics, used by Rick Barry, Nate Thurmond and Attles, have the bridge over the bay in a circular illustration at the head of the shirt, with the phrase "The City" (the city) In large letters on top.The best part of the shirt is the number of each player, illustrated in a transport car on the cables of the San Francisco Bahia on his name.In this season, in which Warriors will seek their third title in four years, these uniforms should be part of their rotation.
Houston Rockets
Clyde Drexler, Hakeem Olajuwon and Charles Barkley, 1997
During the campaign immediately after its two consecutive championships in 1994 and 1995, using the legendary red, yellow and blue uniforms (which are still used by the team frequently), the Houston Rockets changed everything with a totally different color scheme, dressesFor his trio of members of the Hall of Fame, made up of Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley and Hakeem Olajuwon. These striped uniforms in red, navy and white also have a design with a rocket that serves as a background to the name of the team at the head of the shirt.Perhaps a new great threesome of the Rockets with Chris Paul, James Harden and Anthony could go on the court this season using this design. But let's not go.First, Houston must secure that exchange for Anthony.
Los Angeles Clippers
Bob Mcadoo, 1974
Magic Johnson, 1998
Imagine the rookie Lonzo Ball, lighting with this purple visitor uniform in which Magic Johnson and the erars of the "Showtimee" era dazzled and won five NBA championships in the 80s. Come on, Nike.Do it by Lonzo, and by the people.
Memphis Grizzlies
Shareef Abdur-Rabin, 1997
Aguamarine t -shirts used by Vancouver Grizzlies are the most incredible uniforms in NBA history. Please do not mention us on Twitter. The name of the team in large letters by the chest, this colorful scheme that includes red, brown, black and white, the fierce logo of a grizzly bear with a ball in the pants. What is there that you don't like? After six seasons in Canada, the franchise was relocated to Memphis and kept the same pet. Therefore, it is appropriate for Nike to allow Memphis to pay tribute to the city that I initially house them with these glorious shirts.
Minnesota Timberwolves
Kevin Garnett, 1998
A young Kevin Garnett in the black alternative uniform of the Minnesota Timberwolves, with his letters in the style Frankestein and the pine trees at the edges of the shirt and pants ... how rude.Minnesota seeks to make noise at a complicated west conference this year, therefore, the young team of the team could wear intimidate clothes, as Garnett and the Timberwolves did it in their time.
New Orleans Pelicans
Chris Paul, 2011
What can be the best retro shirt for a franchise with just 15 years of life and that gave its original name to another city?We present the uniforms inspired by the "Nola" Mardi Gras that the team previously known as New Orleans Hornets dressed several years ago, when Chris Paul was still the protagonist in the team that took it in the draft. It is difficult to imagine that the people of New Orleans do not feel pleased with a return of these purple, green and gold shirts, especially next February.
Oklahoma City Thunder
Gary Payton, 1991
Would it be crazy if Russell Westbrook, Paul George and the Oklahoma City Thunder paid tribute to the city that previously housed the team when going to the table next season in retro t -shirts of the Seattle Supersonics, similar to those used at the time of Gary PaytonAnd Shawn Kemp?It was a sad moment when the team left Seattle in 2008. We hope that the city has a new franchise someday.Meanwhile, it is appropriate that Nike and Thunder give their respects to the roots of the team.
Phoenix Suns
Jason Kidd, 2000
They cannot deny us that the talented young trio of the Suns, made up of Devin Booker, Marquese Chriss and Josh Jackson can wear these black alternative shirts in style. The Sun Valley needs these once urgent t -shirts.
Portland Trail Blazers
Clyde Drexler, 1992
We see it: the alignment of the Portland Trail Blazer announced with the song "Portland" by Drake, Quavo and Travis $ cott of the album More Life, before the players take off their heating jackets and reveal the ancient uniforms of the blazers thatClyde Drexler and company became an icon. What time would it be.
Sacramento Kings
Nate Archibald, 1975
Before heading to Sacramento in 1985, the franchise was known as the Kansas City Kings, with real blue, red and white uniforms and an updated logo today with the new color scheme with purple, black and gray.If the Kings wore retro t -shirts of their days of Kansas City, Nike would have to make a visor to the rookie base of'aaron Fox.
San Antonio Spurs
George Gervin, 1980
The San Antonio Spurs are still using their Gray t -shirts with the letter "U" in "Spurs" illustrated like the spur of a cowboy boot.Another subtle detail to the retro could be the reissue of the black t -shirts of the 80s of the Spurs with "San Antonio" to the front in white. They are not so colorful, therefore, they can be attractive to the modest Kawhi Leonard.
Utah Jazz
Karl Malone and John Stockton, 1997
Karl Malone, John Stockton and the Utah Jazz loaded with consecutive losses in the 1997 and 1998 NBA finals against Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. However, they lost with style, with purple visitor uniforms and adorned with a Utah mountain.Too bad Gordon Hayward never had the opportunity to wear this shirt before going to Boston as a free agent this summer.
