Miriam Bruten is in love with jewels. She started her creations by chance: her husband is an artist, she works the glass and 23 went together to a fair in the United States, where he was going to meet some colleagues.
Once at the fair, it took 15 minutes for Miriam to get bored. The bad news: they went for eight days; The good news: coincidentally around where they were, there was simultaneously other fairs where they sold accessories to make jewelry and this woman was found as a fish in the water.
Inspired by materials such as silver, ornaments in Gold Filled, Semi -Rrecious Stones and Pearls, she thought about creating jewelry for my daughters, granddaughters and of course for her."I bought the material and decided to participate in my first jewelry workshops during that week," says Miriam. That was the beginning of a career as a jewel.
“On this occasion I started designing pulseritas for my granddaughters, to my surprise all the girls of the school wanted to have them. This took me to the next trip, a month later I went to buy material to start designing different styles, "he says.
Subsequently he has held other workshops in different places in the United States, these were later and more specific according to their interests.
Miriam Jewelry has a classic style with a small modern touch.Use only natural stones (Onyx Black and Green, Malachite, LapisLázuli, Sponge Coral, Turquoise, Agata, Chalcedonia and Swarovski Crystals), Silver Metals 925 or Gold Filled (It has a 14 -carat gold layer and does not get black) and pearls pearlscultivated in different colors and shapes.
For this reason, his works are considered jewels, they are pieces that last a long time;even, with pertinent care they last a lifetime.
- Where does inspiration for the creation of each piece come from?
"The inspiration for the design of each piece is born of beauty and the variety of natural stones.I dedicate time to study the different stones and pearls, I imagine how to join them to finish in an easy piece to combine with any type of clothing, that the person who acquires can use it on all occasions and most importantly, that I love.
"Jewelry is something that always caught my attention.Because only a very small group of people could buy it I considered the possibility of making beautiful, thin and more accessible jewels, using good materials and not so expensive."
- What is the process of preparing the jewels and how much can take a piece?
“I start playing with the different materials and groiting them (unite them) in a different way. This is the creative process, I really enjoy this stage, put, remove, change ....I usually work in the collar design first, later in the earrings and bracelet that complete the set. Before finishing it, I put it in the neck and I see myself in the mirror, I make the necessary changes until it is fully satisfied. In this process it can take a whole day since I change stones, sizes, colors and forms of pearls. When I love it, when I fall in love with the design, I begin to produce."
- Among its creations, does it have a favorite piece?
"I really like them but my favorite is the first one I did more than 20 years ago and it is still one of the best selling.
"I always wanted to have a classic pearl necklace, but it was impossible to buy it.When I met the cultivated pearls, they are called that because they are natural pearls that occur in fresh water tobaches, I managed to make my pearl necklace so desired, to use it at my son's wedding. It was a success!
“This necklace is my favorite and today 23 years later it is still one of the models that attracts the most attention. For its design I lin 925 silver, round pearls and Gold Filled hoops.I love to combine silver with gold."
